Rasuwa Floods: Traffic Halted on Routes to Four Districts, Prithvi Highway Closed

Traffic police have halted vehicles travelling from Kathmandu toward Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Chitwan following heavy flooding and landslides in Rasuwa, with the Prithvi Highway completely closed amid deteriorating road conditions.

The restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure as flooding, landslides and damaged road sections have made travel risky.

Meanwhile, the closure of the Prithvi Highway, a key road link between Kathmandu and major destinations including Chitwan and Pokhara, has further disrupted road travel.

Authorities said traffic movement will resume only after assessing the flood situation, water flow and road conditions. Further decisions will be taken based on the safety situation in the affected areas.
